This oral history documents the development of soil science as a field of study; its leaders and organizations inside and outside academe and its evolving concepts, techniques, and discoveries. Jenny speaks about his family life and early education, his years at the Swiss Institute of Technology, the New Jersey College of Agriculture, and the University of California, Berkeley. He discusses his work on colloids and soil chemistry, and discusses the theories and concepts of soil science, as well as scientists.
