The Triple Religious Heritage of Nigeria focuses on the three main religious traditions of Africa's most populous country, that is, indigenous African religions, Christianity and Islam. The first study, by Umar Danfulani, is an introduction to the spirit world of previously little studied Chadic-speaking groups in the Jos Plateau area of the Middle Belt, David Olayiwola's essay deals with the significance of indigenous Yoruba beliefs and practices in Celestial Aladura Christianity.

The third and final chapter of this research report provides a broad introduction to the history of Nigerian Islam and contains an extensive, if selected, bibliography of books, mainly in English.
