This book includes thirty-one pieces from twenty cities. All but two previously published, we chose pieces that we felt had not received as much attention, were detailed accounts, and would demonstrate the scope and scale of revolutionary activity. Organized geographically, the contents spiral out from Minneapolis and cover the massive and diverse territory occupied by the United States.
