This book describes the history of weights used in Ghana and ivory Coast from the XIV century on till XIX the century to weight golddust. Gold was the material used to pay for all kind of titems. It was traded throught the Sahara to be sold in Europe. From the XVI century on the gold was traded directly with Europeans.It ist the best work on this item.These weights are in bronze made with the lost wax technique.He is the first who describes the different weights system derived from the islamic mitkal.The english gold guinea was made from gold in that area and was named after that area: the Guinea coast.
