Place and date of privately printed volume suggested by the copy, without the original manuscript letters, held by the New York Public Library.
This work consists of a printed section, with an abstract of letters numbered 1-4 on pages [5]-6, followed by manuscript originals of those letters pasted onto tabs; the next section consists of a brief synopsis of letters numbered I-LI on pages [7]-24, followed by the manuscript originals of letters pasted onto tabs. The letters are dated from 1775 to 1782. Some letters are in the hand of a secretary, Colonel Tench Tilghman, or Alexander Hamilton and are only signed by George Washington.
Pages [5]-6 contain abstracts of preliminary autograph letters..
Pages [7]-24 contain only brief synopsis of letters.
Frontispiece portrait is a mezzotint with engraving by A.H. Ritchie. It is pasted onto paper.
