The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of an explicit self-disclosure group contract on self-disclosure behavior and group cohesiveness, and the prediction of S's self-disclosure by the use of a self-report questionnaire.
Since both self-disclosure and group cohesiveness have generally been regarded as highly valued properties of groups, a major thrust of the study was to determine if these variables could be enchanced through the induction of contract specifically calling for self-disclosure as normative behavior.
