The increasing challenges in managing and operating transportation systems have behooves transportation agencies to consider innovative alternative technology solutions. to improv transportation system performance. The goal of this project is to conduct a comprehensiv survey and assessment of the emerging and promising technology that are likely to impact the transportation performance in the NYMTC region. A key purpose of this study is to develop document which serves as a 'one-stop shop' for emerging technology that may be considere for implementation by the different transportation agencies in the NYMTC region. The study was divided into the following 6 tasks: Task 1: Comprehensive Literature Review; Task 2: Initial List of Emerging Technologies; Task 3: Screening of Emerging Technologies; Task 4: Short list of Emerging Technologies; Task 5: Assesment of Short-Listed Technologies; Task 6: Conference and Final Report. The findings from this project were submitted as a final report to NYMTC.
