Edition Notes

Reprints, with few changes or corrections, the text of the editio princeps (Summulae in lib. Physicorum, Bologna, 1494 [Goff O-22]), edited by Marcus de Benevento; see William, of Ockham, Opera philosophica et theologica. Opera philosophica, v. 6 (1984), p. 21.

Imprint from colophon (leaf 32r), which reads in full: "Expliciunt auree Summule in lib. physico[rum] Fratris Guilielmi de villa Occham Anglie: academie nominalium principis: sacraru[m] litteraru[m] p[ro]fessoris: ex ordine mino[rum]: correcte vigili et studio ac labore venerabilis patris Fratris Augustini de Filizano ordinis Sancti Augustini sacre theologie p[ro]fessoris. Impresseq[ue] Venetiis per Lazarum de Soardis. Anno .1506. Die .17. Augusti. Cum priuilegio." The name of the corrector is given as "Augustinus Fiuizanensis" in the heading to his address to the reader on the verso of the title (pi1v); the modern name of the town is Fivizzano.

Final verso contains two poems addressed to the editor, Marcus de Benevento, printed above woodcut device of Lazarus de Soardis.

Woodcuts of a teacher with pupils (title page) and of the Virgin and Child presenting rosaries (title verso).
