The initial step at this point in time is for us to be able to sustain the emergence of a cultural renaissance, a self-awareness campaign based on our heritage and who we are as Africans. We must celebrate our culture and history; use them to develop pride and confidence; use our languages to develop our human capital; deepen democracy translated societally with relevance to the historical and cultural peculiarities of African society. I am also sure that the way forward will be crowded with enormous challenges which will sorely test our ingenuity, resilience and forbearance.
