Work Description
Danish artist Kasper Andreasen's research focuses on investigating and materializing a practice which forms a relation between the methods of drawing and writing. His work encompasses drawing, printed matter, and video, with an emphasis on mapping, indexing, and archiving.
"Isola Comacina is a historical island situated in Lake Como that dates back to the 6th century. In 1919, it was inherited by King Albert I of Belgium and subsequently, a year later, returned to the Italians. Today, the island hosts a joint residency programme for artists in each of the three summer houses there designed by the modernist architect Pietro Lingeri. In 2016, Kasper Andreasen was one of the artists who stayed on the island, for a period of three weeks. During his stay, he wrote an extensive diary-accompanied by drawings, photographs, and a short film-which focuses on the architectural, touristic, and ephemeral aspects of the island."
