In this short zine, Julia Eff writes about living in a small “cow turd” of a town. Eff writes about the tragedy of watching all of the town’s high school valedictorians––who were so desperate to succeed–– continue to work at the local McDonalds, rather than go off to college. As an art student making straight Ds in high school, Eff was never expected to amount to anything. Ironically, though, Eff is one of the only teens from the town who’s close to making it out. —Alekhya
