The Bibliothèque nationale du Luxembourg (BnL) has a considerable collection of artist books by Luxembourgish and foreign artists, which has continuously expanded and diversified over the years. With almost 2000 copies, is the BnL collection by far the most important in the Grand Duchy- not only because of the number of works, but also because of their high quality, reputation and diversity of artists and authors as well as the fact that the most important art movements of the 20th century are represented here: Multiple / Versatile! The aim of this book is to provide an overview of the BnL's collection of artist books and their artistic characteristics. Its beauty should not only arouse interest from experts and initiated lovers, but also from a broader public. It is important to use the selection presented here to clearly illustrate the diversity of our collection, all shapes- bound books, alienated books, Leporellos, loose collections of pages, rolls of paper, pop-up or cut-out books- all styles, all subject areas and techniques

Die Bibliothèque nationale du Luxembourg (BnL) besitzt eine beachtliche Sammlung an Künstlerbüchern von luxemburgischen und ausländischen Künstlern, welche sich im Laufe der Jahre ständig erweitert und diversifiziert hat. Mit nahezu 2000 Exemplaren ist die Sammlung der BnL die mit Abstand Wichtigste im Grossherzogtum - nicht nur nach der Anzahl der Werke, sondern auch wegen ihrer hochwertigen Qualität, des Renommees und der Vielfalt der Künstler und Autoren sowie durch die Tatsache, dass die wichtigsten Kunstströmungen des 20. Jahrhunderts hier vertreten sind: Multiple / Vielseitig! Ziel dieses Buches ist es, einen Überblick über die Sammlung der Künstlerbücher der BnL und ihre künstlerischen Ausprägungen zu vermitteln.
