'Leo Gestel on Mallorca' offers a unique overview of the spectacular and colorful work that painter Leo Gestel made during his stay on Mallorca in 1914. Gestel spends a period of four months on the Spanish island and here, mesmerized by the landscape, makes tempo a large number of sketches and paintings. The series of works represents an experimental high point in modern Dutch art, but has never before been brought together in an exhibition and book. Leo Gestel is considered one of the great innovators of the visual arts in the Netherlands. His urge to innovate is fully expressed in his depictions of the hills, orchards, coves and ports of Mallorca. Exhibition: Museum Kranenburgh, Bergen, The Netherlands (17.04.-18.09.2022)
Exhibition: Museum Kranenburgh, Bergen, The Netherlands (17.04.-18.09.2022)
