Account book for a Newbury, Mass., drygood (?) merchant, John Noyes who also served in the Mass. House of Representatives in 1840-1841 (Cf. p. 78-79). Bound in quarter calf with blue marbled boards. Leaves are ruled in sepia ink on both sides. Entries are made in black ink using both sides of leaf and pages are numbered 1-88. Pages [89]-[169] are not numbered. Pages 38, 40, 45, 64, 80-82, 87, [89], [94], and [98]-[157] are blank. Page between 84-85 not numbered, 2 pages numbered 86, p. 11-12 has been torn out.

Pages [90]-[97] concern Daniel Parker Noyes' expenses while in college at New Haven, 1836-1837.
