Eliodoro Matte holds a degree in civil engineering from the Universidad de Chile and received his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1972. Throughout his career he has been actively involved in a number of public and private organizations. His primary engagement for more than 30 years has been with Empresas CMPC, where he is currently chairman of the board. One of the largest forest products companies in Latin America, CMPC has operations in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay, Colombia, and Mexico, and exports its products throughout the world. Mr. Matte is also involved with the financial sector (Banco Bice S.A.), electricity sector (Colbún S.A.), construction materials industry (Compañia Industrial El Volcan SA), and telecom sector (Entel Chile). He is chairman of the board of Centro de Estudios Públicos (CEP), a prestigious think tank.
