Phyllis Crossland won her first writing award at the age of nine in an essay competition sponsored by the W.R.C.C. She did not attempt further writing, apart from that connected with school and college, until 1968. Since then she has had articles published in a national magazine, one of these later being included in a book, 'History from the Farm', edited by W.G. Hoskins and published by Faber and Faber.Places
