An exploration of British history, culture and society since King Arthur.
Can Britain rule itself and exist as a united Kingdom, let alone influence the world? The question has been put to members of the government, government advisers, historians and economists. Introduced in the film by two neutral presenters dressed in white from head to toe and wearing white masks; filmed during the first UK lock down. From Stonehenge, Julius Caesar, King Arthur, the empire, gay liberation, Lady thatcher, Brexit and Covid19, is Rule Britannia still standing?
Featuring interviews with Professor Colin Mayer from Oxford university and British MP John Spellar.
Screenplay from the documentary feature.

Excerpts
King of England by the grace of God. It is used to imply that the monarch of a nation has a God-given (divine) right to rule.
“Honi soit qui mal y pense” (Old French) Spurned be the one who evil thinks May he be shamed who thinks badly of it. I prefer: hell be the one who thinks ill of it and it meaning Britain or the divine ruler owner of the land.
In current French usage, it may be used ironically to insinuate the presence of a hidden agenda or a conflict of interest.
One rule is half in French, a de facto British language, the language of the Royal Family and some Lords, the Lords and the Royal family being British. The mottoes of Britain confirm this. "Honi soit qui mal y pense"
