Kingston-Amargosa order 3 soil study

"This area of about 500,000 acres lies south and east of the famous Death Valley National Monument area in the northeastern part of the California Desert and has many washes and dry stream channels that slope toward the Amargosa River which eventually channels into the Death Valley depression. The southern boundary of the study area begins about 22 miles north of Baker, California. The soil inventory area is a rectangle (about 18 miles wide by 48 miles long) which lies in a northwesterly direction parallel to the California-Nevada border. It lies within Inyo and San Bernardino Counties with Ranges R9E-R16E and Townships T20N-T26N"--Page 1.
