Contains royal decrees and other documents pertaining to colonial administration and church history in the 17th and 18th centuries. Also includes 19th century correspondence and documents concerning government, political, and military affairs with a chronology of the campaign of Valladolid and Guadalajara. In addition, includes correspondence regarding research and publication of Alamán's Historia de Méjico, some printed documents issued under his authority as Minister, his certificate of baptism, diplomas, passports, visas and other certificates, and a copy, probably from the 17th century, of a 1598 letter from the Conde de Monterrey.
