Edition Notes
The commentary, by lemmas, does not include text of the Institutiones.
On leaf 96b, "Substitutionum arbor" (full-page woodcut). The text on immediately adjacent pages does not correspond to detailed list of contents on l. 2b, and some passages seem to have been lost in printing, in particular the beginning of the Tractatus substitutionum by A. Caius (cf. also entry "susbtitutionis explicita diffinitio" in Repertorium, sig. ²C7b).)
T.p. in red and black. The index ([22] leaves at end) has its own (black only) t.p. with same device and imprint; its title reads: Repertorium locupletissimum Angeli a Gambilionibus Aretini, iurisconsulti praestantissimi, in quatuor Institutionum Iustiniani Imperatoris libros : postrema hac nostra omnium editione prae caeteris in studiorum gratiam ita accuratissmè illustratum, repurgatum, & auctum, vt quaeuis tum verborum, tum rerum memorabilium materiae multo faciliori ordine quàm antea primo obtutu inueniri possint.
Device of the heirs of Lucantonio Giunta (oval with lily flanked by L and A in a very large and rich frame with angel-winged Justice on top, variant not in Zappella) on both title pages; simpler version (Z. 642) on l. 338b and on last page.
Signatures: A-Z⁸ Aa-Ss⁸ Tt¹⁰; ²A-B⁶ ²C¹⁰. Two-column layout.
