Friedman from booksellers and others associated with the building of his Mark Twain collection; booksellers' catalogs and lists; clippings (from catalogs, newspapers, and other serial publications) and keepsakes. Booksellers represented include Philip C. Duschnes, House of El Dieff, Argosy Book Stores, Charles E. Tuttle Co., Argus Books, G.A. Baker & Co., John, Howell, Howard S. Mott, William P. Wreden. Typescript papers included are Whitman Bennett's "Merle Johnson was right", I.S. Underhill's "Points of the first issue of Huckleberry Finn". Articles published in the Antiquarian bookman include "Mark Twain, edited and bowlerized", by Herbert E. Klingelhofer (AB May 14, 1984) and "Roy J. Friedman blames SLC for his Twainiana" (AB February 23, 1952); also included is "The art, humor, and humanity of Mark Twain" by Minnie M. Brashear and Robert M. Rodney (from the University of Oaklahoma Press's Checklist)
