The first of a two-volume terminal report to the Royal Thai Government of a four-year research project on the Lahu Nyi (Red Lahu) people of North Thailand. This volume provides a general introduction to the Lahu people, followed by a detailed investigation of the physical characteristics, demography, social structure, religion and ritual life of a Lahu Nyi village community in Phrao District, Chiang Mai Province during the late 1960s.
