Theater playbill for Edwin Forrest in "King Lear" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, February 10, 1862

Brooklyn Academy of Music. Lessee and manager James M. Nixon, stage manager John B. Wright, musical director John P. Cooke. On Monday evening, Feb. 10th, 1862, the greatest living Tragedian, Edw. Forrest will appear for the first time in Brooklyn in Shakespeare's Tragedy, in 5 acts, of "King Lear," with new and appropriate scenery by J.R. Smith. Previous to the Tragedy the Orchestra will perform a Union overture, compiled from National Melodies by John P. Cooke, Esq.
