Translated by B. Gerrans from a Persian compilation by Ziya ul-Din Nakhshabī. The latter, according to his preface, rewrote a collection of tales which had been translated from and Indic original, occasionally substituting new stories. cf. Brit. mus. Cat. of Persian mss. II, 753.
