This book deals and discusses specifically the cardiac drugs described by Ibn Sīnā in the contemporary research after extensive literature review and meta-analysis (repetitive research and redundant literature obviously not included). These contemporary researches are described after each original text at section 14. The present book also provides the English translation of the whole tract of Risalah al Adwiya al Qalbiyah and whatever work has been done so far. A list of influenced works of this tract along with translation in other languages is provided in appendix 1. Similarly, researches on cardiac drugs formulated in compound drugs are discussed in appendix 2, research work available in the form of MD and PhD theses in appendix 3, M. Pharm dissertations in appendix 4, research projects in appendix 5 and all seminars, conferences, video talks in appendix 6 and appendix 7, respectively. In addition, it has been tried to correlate the fundamental of cardiology and psychology, integrated by the Rūḥ (Pneuma) as described by Ibn Sīnā in the light of present research in the end of the book as a part of conclusion. It has been tried to make this book a useful resource material for scholars who want to make a thorough assessment of the profile of Ibn Sīnā’s Cardiac drugs that have cardioprotective activity and indirect improvement of blood supply to all organs including brain and treating psychiatric diseases.
