The trombone generally follows the bass part of the hymn, but when it has independent melodies, it is intended that they should be played prominently. In the verse the trombones should be kept fairly subdued, but in the choruses they may come out stronger. When there are more than one, a solo trombone should always be employed for the verse. Avoid the danger of too brassy effects. One trombone can be heard well against ten violins. If greater variety is demanded, and there are more than one, the extra trombone may play the cello part. Especially this is advisable when there is no cello. The trombone may also play the string bass part, when this instrument is lacking. - To the musical director.

To the musical director
Onward Christian soldiers
The song of triumph
You can start a song
Jehovah is my keeper
Tell somebody
My Redeemer
Greater each day
Redeemed and made perfect
The old rugged cross
Saved by grace
Wonderful, boundless peace
Since Jesus came into my heart
God will take care of you
I have a Savior
Jesus loves you
Mountain of blessing
He's a wonderful Savior to me
Go forward
I will not forget thee
My mother's prayer
In the garden
Under the blood
I shall be satisfied
Cling to the rock
Where the gates swing outward never
The fields are white
The end of the road
My refuge
Tell me the story of Jesus
The saving power
There is glory in my soul!
Under the cross of Jesus
There'll be music in heaven
No disappointment in heaven
Today the Savior calls
Still sweeter every day
No night there
Bridge the road to heaven with a smile
Step by step
He rolled the sea away
Carry your cross with a smile
Eternal life
Awake! Arise
Reflect the Christ
Ask, and it shall be given you
Brighten the corner where you are
Thy Word have I hid in my heart
The prodigal son
Christ is here
Love found a way
His love can never fail
If your heart keeps right
Open my eyes that I may see
Into the woods my Master went
Redeemed and saved
Keep on singing
Beautiful valley of Eden
Into all the world
Somebody cares
He delivers from sin
At any cost
I shall dwell forever there
A rainbow on the cloud
The way is clear
Drifting
My wonderful friend
It was for me
Trial of faith
Mother's prayers have followed me
What a smile will do
Look and live
Only a sinner
The promised land
Just be thankful
Every day and hour
Keep the faith
All for Jesus
Sweeter as the years go by
The King at the door
Shouting victory
Tell it to Jesus alone
Redemption
Jesus, Rose of Sharon
The sunlit hills
More about Jesus
Jesus waits
I walk with the King
Awake! Awake!
Meditation
The stamp of the King
I shall see the King
The roll call here
Faith of our fathers!
The eastern gate
Let the sunshine in
What would we do without the clouds?
Lord Jesus, so come
He cares for even me
Take the name of Jesus with you
The kingdom of glory
O love that will not let me go
Dwelling in Beulah land
The hem of His garment
A sinner made whole
When they ring the golden bells
The hills above
The battle for the King
I never will cease to love Him
The hand that was wounded for me
Wonderful grace
Transformed
Rally around the cross
Rescue the perishing
The Rose of Sharon
I am praying for you
A wonderful Savior
What does it mean to you?
I love Jesus
My wonderful dream
The fight is on
Pass me not
Love lifted me
Is it the crowning day?
My Savior was there
It pays to serve Jesus
Raise me, Jesus, to thy bosom
I'm a pilgrim
Good night and good morning
Home of the soul
We have an anchor
My mother's Bible
The cross of Calvary
Take up thy cross
Tell others of Jesus
Sail on!
He loved me
Beulah Land
When the story is told
Sweeter than all
Where they never say "Good-bye"
Jesus is leading
Get close to Jesus
The blood covers my sin
He whispers His love to me
When our hosts to battle go
Closer still
The great world task
Christ is risen
King of Kings
Toiling for the Master
Send thy Spirit
The secrets of God's grace
Confidence
Calvary
There is power in the blood
The sunshine of His smile
'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
The victory may depend on you
Let the lower lights be burning
Mighty One forevermore
Christ arose
Since I have been redeemed
Sing to the Lord
Will the circle be broken?
We're marching to Zion
Jesus loves even me
Brighten up the shady spots
Swing song
Help me to help others
Spelling love
The thank you glow
The children's prayer
The star and the song
Silent night! Holy night!
Gleaners
Because He loves us
Sowing
God is love
The heavenly stranger
Wake up!
Be a golden sunbeam
Old glory
Song of the sunbeams
It's my flag, too
Each step of the way
Song to the flag
The star-spangled banner
My country, 'tis of thee
The church in the wildwood
I want my life to tell
More men like Daniel
The beautiful land
Wandering child, O come home
Sometime, somewhere
The wayside cross
Just outside the door
To Jesus I am clinging
Arise, O Israel!
His eternal love
Send out the light
God's harvest field
Loyal to Jesus
King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Crown Him King of Kings
Awakening chorus
From every stormy wind
Jesus is calling
God helping me, I will
God is knocking
Calling the prodigal
Jesus will give you rest
Ask Jesus to save you today
Still undecided
Souls are coming home
Saved!
Oh, why not now?
Now is the accepted time
I am resolved
The Lord is ready to save you
Abundantly pardon
I am coming home
I need thee every hour
Come to Jesus
Come, ye sinners
The great physician
Just as I am
Oh, why not tonight?
Why not now?
At the cross
Hold the fort
Let Jesus come into year heart
Why do you wait?
Softly and tenderly
While Jesus whispers
Almost persuaded
I'll live for Him
Oh, how I love Jesus
There is a fountain
Lord, I'm coming home
I am coming, Lord
What a friend
Since I found my Savior
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Savior, more than life
Close to Jesus
Come thou fount
Hallelujah, 'tis done!
Where He leads me
Give me a heart like thine
No, not one
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Father, whate'er
The shining shore
Fill me now
I love Him
O Master, let me walk with thee
Savior, like a shepherd
More love to thee
Near the cross
There is a land of pure delight
Fade, fade, each earthly joy
My heavenly home
I love to tell the story
Even me, even me
Sweet hour of prayer
Majestic sweetness sits enthroned
Jesus paid it all
Whosoever will
Day is dying in the West
Jesus, I my cross have taken
My Jesus, I love thee
Blest be the tie
Holy Spirit, faithful guide
Holy Ghost, with love divine
Holy, holy, holy
Jesus, Savior, pilot me
Rock of Ages
Safely through another week
Loving kindness
Nearer, my God, to thee
There's a wideness
My Jesus, as thou wilt
Lead, kindly light
Break thou the Bread of Life
From Greenland's icy mountains
Guide me, O thou great Jehovah
A charge to keep
How firm a foundation
How firm a foundation : second tune
Ring the bells of heaven
The Son of God goes forth to war
Stand up for Jesus
Glory to His name
I am trusting, Lord, in thee
How tedious and tasteless
Am I a soldier?
Love divine
The solid Rock
All hail the power of Jesus' name
All hail the power of Jesus' name : second tune
Work, for the night is coming
Come, thou almighty King
Alas! and did my Savior bleed?
Joy to the world
Yield not to temptation
When the roll is called up yonder
Higher ground
Blessed be the name
Abide with me
Sun of my soul
My faith looks up to thee
On Jordan's stormy banks
The home over there
Blessed assurance
He leadeth me
When I survey the wondrous cross
Is my name written there?
Come, thou fount
I'll go where you want me to go
The sacred book
Only trust Him
O happy day
Revive us again
Battle hymn of the Republic
God be with you

Gloria Patri no. 2
