First number of Margaret Fuller's translation of the fictitious correspondence between Bettina Brentano and Caroline Günderode, preceded by "Translator's preface " and an extract from her article in the Dial entitled "Bettina Brentano and her friend Günderode." Three more numbers announced never appeared; the translation was later completed by Mrs. Wesselhoeft in her anonymous edition of the "Correspondence of Fräulein Günderode and Bettine von Arnim." Boston, 1861.
Of Günderode's poem, etc. included in the correspondence, this number contains: Manes; Apocalyptical fragment; Change and constancy; Immortalita; [Dartula (selections in German and English]
The article as given in the Dial (vol.II, 1842, p. 313-357) contains translations of a few letters not published elsewhere.
