Book Details

First Sentence

"One important result of recent research on Isaiah 53 which happens to disagree with the perspective of Zimmerli is the recognition that, despite the NRSV's misleading rendering "an offering for sin," the term in 53:10 should not be understood as signifying a "sin offering," "guilt offering," "atoning sacrifice," or "the doing of penance.""
