"Alice has just returned to London from months of travelling abroad. She is late to hear the news that her father is dying, and returns to the family home only just in time to say goodbye. Daniel hasn't had a roof over his head for almost thirty years, but to him the city of London feels like home in a way that no bricks and mortar ever did. He spends every day searching for his daughter; the daughter he has never met. Until now ..."--P. [4] of cover.

Work Description

About to turn thirty, Alice is the youngest of three daughters and the black sheep. Drawn to far-flung and often dangerous countries, she has never been close to the man she believes is her father and is late to hear the news that he is dying. Daniel hasn't had a roof over his head for almost thirty years. He makes sculptures out of the objects he finds on his walks through London. Approaching sixty, Daniel's kept alive by the knowledge of one thing -- he has a daughter somewhere in the world he has never been able to find.
