Consists of a list of the House Committee and Committee of Visitors and its report (John V. B. Johnstone, Basill T. Woodd), report of the Commissioners in Lunacy (R. W. Lutwidge, Robert Nairne), the report of the medical superintendent (Thos. B. Christie), financial and statistical statements (Josiah Stonier, steward, Mary Thompson, matron's assistant) and a dietary table.
The asylum was previously called the North and East Ridings of Yorkshire Lunatic Asylum. It is referred to as the 'Lunatic Asylum for the North Riding of Yorkshire', 'North Riding Asylum', 'North Riding Lunatic Asylum', 'North Riding of Yorkshire County Lunatic Asylum'.
