A Guardian/Ward Romance
Oliver Fleming, the young Earl of Pentagon, was initially opposed to taking on a 12 year old girl, Anne, as his ward. When he reluctantly becomes responsible for her, he is so unorthodox a guardian that by the time she is sixteen she has lived a socially isolated life, but has been encouraged by him to become an incomparable horsewoman and enthusiastic botanist.
