"La America", an ode in 56 lines on p. [3-4], is signed "El amigo de la justicia" and dedication reads "A su hijo el Sr. D. Jose Cecilio Diaz del Valle"

"El amigo de la patria" was printed in Guatemala City by Manuel de Arevalo irregularly in two volumes of twenty four issues each from October 16, 1820 to March 1, 1822. It covered political news from Guatemala, New Spain, and Spain.

Date of publication is either 1821 or 1822. The first volume issue no. 24 is dated April 30, 1821; the second volume issue 24 is dated March 1, 1822.
