Cordula Güdemann creates a brave new world of faked images that seem familiar: we know them from a dream or from television. Inevitably the observer becomes a voyeur who initially enjoys the colourful activities of the world, often realising too late that people are taken advantage of within the arena of events culture or that fighting machines often turn out to be paper darts. The image within the image moves over us like a spectre, or we ourselves become part of a masquerade within the museum. While others gaze in wonder - we meet our doom with a wink.
