Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Title devised by cataloger.

One piece of correspondence (two separate letters) between George Chalmers and William Henry Ireland, regarding Chalmers' belief that a production of the latter's Henry the Second could, in light of Ireland's recent confessions, prove to be a profitable venture. Chalmers' letter is dated Feb. 6, 1810, and notes that it is a response to Ireland's request for comment. Ireland's reply, on the verso of the same sheet, is dated Feb. 17th, 1810. This letter is bound-into the front of G.3953.13 no.1, Ireland's own interleaved copy of of the play.
