On paper watermarked with an armored figure holding a spear within a crowned border; countermarked with the initials "I.B.B."

Halfbound in red goatskin and marbled papers by the E. Rau Firm, of Philadelphia. The armorial bookplate of the Barton Library is present on the front pastedown.

Present on the recto of the front flyleaf is an inscription in the hand of T.P. Barton that reads, "This glossary, which has no date, is placed on the shelves under the year 1800. It was said by Rodd, at the time of my purchase from him to be circa 1800. I think that it must be older.--T.P.B."
