In 1892 the Record Commissioner's Department (created in 1875 and known also as the Department of Ancient Records) was consolidated with the Registry Department, which continued the publication under the same title, "Report of the Record Commissioners," until 1900; with v. 29, the title was changed to its present form.

This volume, which is the Thirtieth Report in the series of Boston Records, contains the marriages recorded in the Town of Boston from 1752 to 1809 inclusive, collated with the Book of Banns for the same period with additions from other sources.
