Boston Public Library. Barton collection catalogue, p. 104

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy includes manuscript marginalia, apparently in the hand of the author, throughout and is the third of three printed items bound together in a volume titled "Edwards, Canons of criticism." This volume contains [1]: A supplement to Mr. Warburton's edition of Shakespear [1748] -- [2]: The canons of criticism and glossary, being a supplement to Mr. Warburton's edition of Shakespear [3rd ed.] -- [3]: The canons of criticism and glossary, being a supplement to Mr. Warburton's edition of Shakespear [4th ed.]. Two manuscript indexes, also in the author's own hand, are bound in at the end. The first of the two is a simple index to vols. 3 and 4 of Canons of criticism. The second correlates the content of the Warburton and Theobald editions of Shakespeare to Canons of criticism. See the Catalog of the Barton Collection for a more detailed description.
