Compilation attributed to California legislator Cornelius Cole.

Includes preliminary leaf containing a facsimile (30 cm., folded to 13 x 22 cm.) of the joint resolution containing the text of the thirteenth amendment to the United States Constitution, "with the official signatures of the officers of Congress and of the United States and the members of the Senate and House of Representatives who supported the resolution."

Bound in leather with embossed gold decoration and lettering, inserted in folded cloth boards and then in leather-covered slipcase with embossed gold decoration and lettering.

Includes bookplate, with signature of Eugene Field II, Jan. 8, 1934: This book came from the library of my father, Eugene Field.
