May records the minutes of a meeting of Unitarian ministers at the Berry Street Vestry. The meeting follows up on business attended to at a meeting held on February 29, 1844. The proceedings of the previously adjourned meeting dealt with the reply of the American Unitarian clergy to the Address of the English Unitarians on the subject of slavery. A response was drafted during the interim between meetings. May's meeting minutes indicate that the draft was discussed and edited during the April meeting.
