Anne Warren Weston begins with an account of social calls and local activities. She attended a meeting at Mrs. Rugg's of "Groton [abolitionist] sisters," and addressed them, explaining the plans of the Boston Society. Two resolutions were passed, one favoring aid from the Groton Society, one approving the Female Convention. Tells about a debate between Amos Augustus Phelps and Cyrus Pitt Grosvenor on "which was the greatest evil, Slavery or Intemperance?" Anne does not like school teaching, but, if she must, she would like to take Henry Lee's place.
