Correspondence

Palmer and Engelmann

Incoming and outgoing correspondence between George Engelmann and Edward Palmer, for 1874-1883. The correspondence relates to Palmer's collecting trips to Mexico and the American west, including Arizona, California and Utah, as well as Palmer's and Engelmann's work on identifying plant specimens collected during these trips.

Folder contain original letters and postcards.

Letter dated December 25, 1867 includes a note from Asa Gray to George Engelmann.

Letter dated March 12, 1870, written by Horace Capron, Commissioner of the U. S. Department of Agriculture, to George Engelmann regarding Palmer specimens.

Letter dated May 10, 1870 includes a note from C. C. Parry to George Engelmann.

Folder also contains handwritten notes from George Engelmann regarding Palmer's specimens from Arizona.
