Title page from folio volume of herbarium specimens : "Collected by John Bartram of Philadelphia in 1742-43 and forwarded by him to Sir Hans Sloane, a London botanist."

Accompanied by a copy of a letter from the Bartram Memorial Library Committee (Jan.18, 1907) offering these for sale for $25. Two letters from John Bartram to John Fothergill are reproduced.
