Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

This letter is signed "Elizabeth." No surname is indicated.

Elizabeth apologizes for the delay in returning the "Fair Call." She is at first hesitant to sign her name to a document "the object of which is so much opposed by some of my friends," but she finally overcomes "such foolish feelings" and is sending her signature. She mentions the possibility of seeing Mr. [Charles Fox?] Hovey tomorrow.
