Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Anne Knight is glad of the encouraging letters to Elizabeth Pease from Lucretia Mott and others. She comments on the conduct of the "orthodox party." She quotes indirectly a "fulsome address of one of their conclaves, pro-slavery essence! Abolitionists had hurt the cause very much retarded it for years & they could not associate with them!" Anne Knight touches on the woman question and uses a biblical argument in support of a woman's rights and duties.
