Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Maria Weston Chapman would have heard from Edward Morris Davis if he had had any intention of "exposing" himself in the Liberty Bell or had "been able to induce mother [Mrs. Lucretia Mott] to add an article to it." Edward M. Davis noticed what Maria W. Chapman said "about that vulgar & unprinciple[d] print the Chronotype." They have had no tidings from William Lloyd Garrison and hence infer that he is growing better. Davis said: We are busy with our convention---which are the best ever held in this region." The fair opens this evening, Dec. 15, 1847, and "promises to be full & attractive.

On bottom part of page two, Edward Morris Davis continues writing this letter on Dec. 15, 1847. He says that a tract will soon be issued as no. 2.
