Dated: Pittsfield, May 9, 1775.

Hopes within the week to hear of victory at Ticonderoga and Crown Point. Reports the news brought of the Mohawks by Solomons. Hears that ammunition can be obtained at Albany. Comments on the "poor Tories" at Kinderhook. Has had news directly from Ticonderoga, the condition of the fort, the number of men and amount of ammunition. Has also heard that Benedict Arnold has sent out a call for recruits, eighteen men of each company to march immediately.
