She gives the names of people who called on her. She quotes Angelina Grimke Weld on her experiences at an anti-slavery meeting, and describes an argument with Mrs. Weld verbatim. Chapman has written to Madame Keller about the anti-slavery fair. A French chair was presented to Deborah. Tells who was "tending" at the fair: Sarah Russell, Mrs. Lydia Maria Child, Mrs. Eliza Lee Follen, etc. She criticizes William H. Channing. She mentions an argument with Mrs. Gilman about infidelity. She talked to Dr. Francis about Harriet Martineau. She gives some instructions about family finances.

There is also an unrelated receipt (financial record). It is for the payment of $1.75, on December 1845(?), from Mrs. H.G. Chapman [Maria Weston Chapman] to A.H.(?) Rhoades.
