Edition Notes

Holograph, signed with initials.

In this letter, Sarah Pugh discusses the struggle between the Garrisonians in Bristol and a combination of "religious fanatics" and the British & Foreign Anti-Slavery Society. The Bristol & Clifton Ladies Report was mentioned in the Pennsylvania Freeman, but not in the National Anti-Slavery Standard or the Liberator. Sarah Pugh thinks she better stay in England for the winter.
