"The Double Elephant Press undertook this labor of love in the Jewish calendar year of 5765. The lead type 14 Didot Lutetia & 12 point Bembo was set & cast by Julia Ferrari & Dan Carr at their Golgonooza Letter Foundry in Ashuelot, New Hampshire. Art Larson in Hadley, Massachusetts, printed letterpress ... also printed the intaglios ... The lithographs on Japanese Gampi Torinoko, were pulled from stones by Tim Sheesley at his Corridor Press in Otego, New York ... Barry Spence wove the sheets & bound the sixty books in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts"--Colophon

Deluxe edition includes a second clamshell box with the spine title: Disasters of love, suites of intaglios & lithographs, and contains five parts: a portfolio (43 cm.) holding nine prints each marked i/xvi, a portfolio (43 cm.) holding 25 prints marked either first or second state and two copper plates, a portfolio (24 x 16 cm.) "Lithographs" holding 12, a portfolio (15 x 40 cm.) "Intaglios" holding 11, and a box (17 x 19 cm.) "Hair of the artist," with a lock of hair attached to red cloth.

LC has copy 1, deluxe edition.
