Printer's device shows Minerva riding a lion below statement "cum priuilegio" on t.p.; device on colophon shows two roosters with motto "fruges mendacii non comedetis." Another issue lacks statement "cum priuilegio" and has printer's device showing roosters on t.p.

Errata on verso of leaf [43].

LC copy has tipped in newspaper clipping, dated Oct. 28, 1902, from F.B. Sanborn to the editor of The Republican about Galileo's inscription and tipped in description of the Torre al Gallo in Florence. Also has note laid in by Richard Garrett verifying the authenticity of Galileo's handwriting.

LC copy has presentation inscription (partially cropped) by Galileo to Cipriano Saracinelli on title page; inscriptions of former owners Vincenzo Torrielli (dated 1813) and F.B. Sanborn (dated 1892) on title page; bookplate of William Harris Arnold.
